Coaching is like talking to a great listener.
Have you ever had the experience of someone actually listening to you?
- your words…
- your concerns…
- your ideas…
- without interrupting or trying to solve your problem for you?
If so, then you’ve experienced one layer of what it’s like to be coached. And – isn’t it grand? To be truly listened to… when someone really gets you and what you’re saying – it’s such a generous space!
Coaches are trained to listen and reflect your words and your ideas – so you can gain clarity and figure out your next steps. They listen at a level that you don’t listen yourself. Coaches are committed to your success and will often ask questions that other friends won’t.
Although many people schedule their coaching sessions during ‘business hours’, some coaching clients set their coaching schedule up around the free time in their schedules. Some clients prefer to use the time around their lunch break, while others work best in the morning or on the weekends when their work is quieter and they can focus just on themselves. Many of my clients have children, so scheduling uninterrupted time is key to their ability to focus and not be distracted.
