Why do you have trouble managing your time?
Well to put it simply, it’s likely due to the fact that you focus more on the pain vs. the root causes of your pain.
How do you get better at managing your time?
SIMPLE – Figure out where your pain is, then focus on fixing the root causes that are the drivers behind that pain…
If your complaint is this, you may need to focus on the following:
You Run Late (a lot)
If you are always running late? It is time to focus on time mapping and your planning skills. You need to figure out a time to sit down with yourself and get real with what you commit to and how you spend your time. You see, your friends are getting sick of waiting on you. You ask a lot of the people around you and frankly – it’s pretty darn selfish of you to value your time and your ‘last minute things’ over showing up on time for others. You need to PLAN daily and weekly.
OR – You may be unclear about setting expectations to avoid hurting people. For instance if you know you want to attend an event, but think it is going to conflict with something else, you need to set the appropriate expectation up front and say so! That way people will not “wait” for you, and celebrate when you do arrive!
If you can isolate your particular “GAP” (or gaps) in terms of what is NOT working for you, you’ll be able to better determine what you think you might need and use best.
