Build a team that embraces accountability and personal responsibility.
What would you communicate?
To communicate your purpose effectively, be sure that you’re communicating your big picture goals and plans with team members. One of the best ways to do this is through establishing regular meeting times. Whether you have a team of contractors or full-time employees or are simply using people to complete tasks here and there for your business, one of the biggest mistakes entrepreneurs make is simply delegating by task. It’s important for everyone on your team to understand the big picture. After all they may have something more to add, or experience in an area where you may be lacking.
When sharing your purpose be sure to answer questions so that everyone understands how their role and the work they do affects the overall mission and your bigger vision of your company.
Clear communication on the direction of your company can help each team member see how their work affects the overall goal rather than viewing it as a random list of to-do items.
