One of my core values is life-long learning. Having been raised by a teacher – I’m a bit of a learning junkie.
And, as a mompreneur, I’ve found that one of the best ways to take care of myself is to build learning into my daily routine!

Finding opportunities to learn new things does not have to stick to business though. I recently went to a summer camp experience in Lake George, NY with my sister and one of my sons.
Although at first it seemed an inconvenience, very limited wifi and no cell coverage really was a lovely escape from the constant input of social media, cell phone connectivity, email and being always on!
In the silence, we enjoyed good old fashioned fun: kayaking, boating, beaching, hiking and simple conversation. I also had the opportunity to take some classes in watercolor painting and stained glass making. Both of these things have been on my bucket list for years, and I have to say – it was AWESOME to reconnect with my creative, expressive self in new and artistic ways.
I never had the opportunity prior, but it was really fun to learn as a beginner. Awkwardness and clumsiness were part of the journey.
Learning new things not only keeps you on top of your game, but also boosts confidence and motivation.
