Mompreneur Time Tip – Eye On The Prize

October 28, 2014 by Cena Block ·

When you own your own business, pretty much – everything falls on your task list (at least at first).

If you’re like most mompreneurs, you have the lion’s share of responsibility for what happens in your business.

Grow/productivity/sanespaces.comThat said, it’s really not productive to spend your time on things that are unrelated or worse irrelevant to your goals.

During your busy workday, remember to ask yourself, “Is what I am doing now, moving me toward or away from my goal?”

Just the simple act of asking yourself this question several times a day will dramatically increase your productivity.

If it’s not moving you toward your goal, making you money or attracting clients, drop it or find a way to delegate the task as soon as possible.

The fastest way to cash is to spend your time on the highest return activities. Everything else should be given to task masters and detail people – so you can focus on clients and revenue-generating activities.

Your Sanity Assignment

Write your To Do list for today and include the three things you will do before you end your day.

Now stay on task until you complete at least one before you give yourself a break.

Set a timer to stay on task.

If you find yourself taking a break before your task is complete, ask yourself: Is what I’m doing right now leading me toward completing this task? If the answer is no – GET BACK ON TRACK!

Please comment

What tends to distract you most of all? Do you find yourself getting hung up on a certain pasttime that is particularly compelling? What tips can you share that you’ve learned to help you stay on track?
