Time is our most precious resource.
We all have 24 hours a day yet we tend to spend a lot of it procrastinating and more. Time management is the incredible art of making your productivity and efficiency to achieve the goals you’re looking for faster than before.
It is not quite about filling each moment of your time with productive work, but you will need to work on making this into a process that makes use of your time in a more useful manner. Make a decision right now that will give you a chance to practice better time management and these things will become habitual to you.
There are few skills in life that will help improve your quality of life. The time management skill we will focus on is prioritizing! Let’s get started with the first action you need to take:

Value personal time
Time is one of the most precious resources in our lives. Everything we accomplish is the result of how we manage and prioritize our time each day. From domestic chores such as carpet cleaning, upholstery cleaning, and home maintenance, make each task a part of your life and prioritize time to get things done so you can maximize your minutes spent using a professional cleaning company allows you to eliminate those chores from your daily time, freeing you up for other pursuits…Treat your time as your most valuable resource – spend it carefully and never give it away thoughtlessly. You should reduce the number of activities you do that fail to contribute to your daily life. Common time wasters are things like watching TV, endless and aimless web surfing and prioritizing time spent with people that simply suck up too much of your available time. If someone asks you to do something that is not important to you, just simply say no. Too many people (especially women) seem to struggle with this one concept. When it comes to commitments, take control of each request made of you, and use each moment as you see fit, not as others desire.
Planning and appointments
A great way to plan is to write it out. When you make plans and stick to them you will work more efficiently and take charge of your days. A good planner, whether a traditional paper calendar or a more advanced planning system will help you lay everything out. Once you have a plan, it’s easy to adapt your plans and load them into a web-based application. Do that and you will be better organized, and more likely to keep your appointments because you will be reminded automatically. A paper planner also allows you to jot down tasks and notes for each of your days. You’ll become more efficient and achieve your goals, and your planner will help you track your progress as you move forward. Appointments should be assigned specific times and dates on your calendar while tasks may be prioritized on their due date. Most paper planners include a master task list to help you lay out your long term goals.
Complete the most important tasks first
Focusing on what is most important is one of the most important rules of time management. Identify two to three tasks that are absolutely necessary to complete each day. This will keep those tasks top of mind, and help you stay focused on completing them. Once the most important tasks are completed, you’re free to move on to other tasks, should always remember to prioritize by importance first!
Knowing when to say no
Too many commitments force you to juggle too many tasks and engagements to manage time effectively. When you’re overcommitted, life is more stressed and tense. So, saying no when you need to will save you from being too busy. If you do not exercise your right to say no to others’ priorities, it becomes hard to juggle your tasks, stay focused on what is most important – and may eventually cause you to let go of your commitments by default as time goes by… as things tend to fall through the cracks when you have too many tasks to juggle and not enough time to do so.
Get enough sleep
Some people think that sacrificing sleep will help them increase their productivity so they can continue to stay awake to wring out a few MORE hours of the day for work. You’ll hear people say – sleep is for the weak… Well, when it comes to managing your time –adequate sleep actually really helps. Most adults need a good 7 hours of sleep to allow their bodies to recuperate, rejuvenate and heal and to allow their minds to operate at top levels. Listen to your body and never underestimate how important sleep really is.
Devote all your effort to the task at hand
Avoid distractions to the best of your ability, put the phone away, shut out the distractions of the cyber world and focus on one task at a time. Find a nice and quiet place or listen to music, and reset so that you concentrate on what you are doing without losing that focus.
Getting an early start
Most everyone procrastinates at some point. Let’s face it, it’s fun to be lazy… an sometimes you actually NEED it. It is really easy to do nothing, on the other hand, motivating yourself can be a daily challenge for some people. If you really want to be able to finish the job you started however, starting your days earlier to complete everything that needs doing will help you get focused early. There’s something very refreshing and motivating about mornings…How early you start will depend largely on your personal body clock and rhythms.
Never allow unimportant things to slow you down
Often we allow projects to take much longer than they need to, especially if we are too hung up on the little details. What’s worse is focusing on the perfectionism that can plague our ability to complete tasks. If you tend to be a perfectionist and struggle with completing tasks – Try applying your perfection to the MOST IMPORTANT tasks. Avoid this perfectionist behavior when working on tasks of less importance. Those can be completed easily and most likely do not require as much expertise as high profile projects and tasks. If your perfectionism kicks up when working on urgent projects – you may have a real struggle on your hands. Perfectionism can be your best friend or your worse enemy. Try to apply your high standards to the tasks that matter most.
