It’s all about mindset
The day I truly changed my money mindset I made $5000.00!
Okay, not really. I did actually make $225.00 though. You gotta start somewhere
Lately, I’ve been thinking and reading about how hard I have been working the past three years on my business and why I’m still not making the kind of money I want to make.
I have to give credit to Cena Block because her Biz Marketing Makeover did open my eyes to some of my issues and thoughts about making money. I learned about creating packages, the value of my time, and the value of my expertise. However, I didn’t dig deep enough into my subconscious (my fault not Cena’s). I thought I would just create these awesome packages or course and people would come. Yes, that can happen if you are open to it but I figured out I wasn’t. I was blocking myself.
The book that hit the nail on the head and made me really dive into my money mindset issue is, “You are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life,” by Jen Sincero
The questions by Sincero that really struck a chord with me were:
- Are you making far less money that you know you are capable of making?
- Have you reached a certain income level that no matter what you do, you can’t seem to go above?
- Does generating an abundance of money consistently seem like something you’re not even physically capable of?
Yes, I can relate to those statements, but why? That’s what we want to know right?
Sincero asks you to write down the first five things that come to your mind when you think about money. Sincero goes on with these prompts:
- If your list full of hope and bravado or fear and loathing (of making money)?
- What are your parents beliefs about money? (This was a big one for me)
- What was their relationship with money like?
- Do you see any connection between their money beliefs and yours?
Yes, yes I do.
I’ve honestly never looked at it from this angle before. Once I did, I realized I am working super hard (like my parents), but I’m either spending too much, giving too much info away for free, or I just think I’m unlucky (all like my parents). Weird.
But the subconscious speaks the truth doesn’t it?
Now that I have what I call the first key which is awareness, I can grab the second key which is ditching thoughts. Yes ditching the pesky negative thoughts and habits that make up my money mindset.
I need to open up my brain to some new possibilities. Inviting the positive flow in and ditching the old beliefs about money that have been holding me back.

Those two keys are specific steps you can take today to begin to change a negative money mindset. I hope you come to some newfound conclusions to start your journey of being a badass entrepreneur!
