Productivity is the buzzword of the day. I believe ‘productivity’ has replaced the dreaded and now-shamed word multitasking! And entrepreneurs really struggle with staying productive. But, you must stay on top of your game, your business, your clients, and your family when you’re a mompreneur! Most entrepreneurs have multiple strengths and endless ideas! To wrangle project details in, manage tasks and keep a big picture perspective, we must find simple productivity techniques and ways to support how we naturally work.
Productivity Increases When You Know Your Time Management Personality Type
Since everyone is wired a little differently, it’s important to start with a clear understanding of your natural time management and organizing habits. I designed the Time & Space Style Inventory to help you gain insight into how you work, and how you naturally manage your time. First, take the quiz and review your profile results. Then, when you better understand your natural style habits you can develop productivity hacks, streamline procedures, and design customized processes that will support you, heighten your focus, enhance your ability to delegate, encourage your productivity and keep you on track toward your business goals. The TSSI online quiz is available here.
My dominant Time Management Style Personality types are Hopper Style and Big Picture Time Management Style, and I score moderately in the Time Management Style Types for both Hyper-Focus and Impulsive.
Even without definitions attached to these time management styles, you can likely assume that I like things to stare me in the face as reminders, and I tend to prefer broad brush perspective. But with moderate scores both Hyper-Focus and Impulsive Time Management Style Types – I sometimes struggle with time management. I desire time to deeply focus on my work but also enjoy the adrenaline rush I get when I am often interrupted. Since these two styles can have opposite strengths and flow steps, I must consistently check in with myself to determine whether I’m creating more tension or releasing tension when I’m indulging one preference over the other.
For instance, while writing this post, I’ve enjoyed focusing deeply on what I want to say and how to present it here, but I’ve allowed myself to be interrupted all day. It’s now 8:30 pm, and I started working on this particular post 12 hours ago! So this is a practical example of how two opposing style preferences (and strengths) can be at odds and cause major issues when trying to work efficiently and productively.
In summary, no matter who you are, or what you do for a living, knowing more about your natural Time Management Personality Style Preferences will help you navigate the MANY decisions you make daily to prioritize your time. Your style preferences can either work for you or can work against each other at times and really delay your results and slow you down.
To master productivity, it’s important to learn how to do things (set up systems, choose tools, and create processes) that work in your favor, or you can unknowingly work against your style preferences and therefore adversely affect your outcomes. Knowing how I am hard wired, and how I typically use my time helps me to choose tools and apps that keep me productive.

Wow was this hard to ‘define’! Since Google has moved from a noun to a verb, it was really weird to describe! But this was the best short description I could come up with. Google offers Internet-related services and products that include online advertising technologies, search, cloud computing, software, and mobile applications. What is most attractive about it is that many of Google’s services are FREE! They can be used by anyone from a toddler to a retiree. And, Google offers rich mobile applications that make it easy to run your business. My favorites and most used tools are GMail, Drive, Sheets, Maps, Google+, Images and even more in Google Business. Wow, the more I thought about it, the more I realized how helpful this entire suite of products is for all entrepreneurs. Especially because so many of them are free to use! (Thanks Google!)
Asana (/əˈsɑːnə/) is a web and mobile application designed to help teams track their work. It was founded in 2008 by Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz and ex-engineer Justin Rosenstein, who both worked on improving the productivity of employees at Facebook. I am an early adopter of this platform and have loved it for several years. Having managed loads of projects in my past career, I can use this to track things like launches or set up business maintenance tasks that repeat monthly. I have access to my entire dashboard and receive emails every time one of my team members updates a task.
Dropbox is a free cloud storage service for sharing and storing files including photos, documents, and videos. … Files can be shared with others by providing them with a link to your Dropbox folder. The great thing about this service is that you can assign expiration dates to links. This way, you can share a file but only allow access to it for a short period of time to limit access. Dropbox is awesome. You can explore the service for free, but they will charge as your need for online storage space expands.
Although TimeTrade has had a rocky transition period, it’s really come around. The application is a really simple way to schedule appointments with people. To be successful, you’ll need to consistently work from an online calendar tool (such as Google, Outlook or iCal) and be sure to keep that calendar up to date. TimeTrade simplifies the bookings process by allowing you to create pre-set meeting times that recur as openings on your calendar. This totally simplifies scheduling. I can send a person my pre-scheduled link, they open my calendar and book time with me with one click! Then the system sends us all the call in or webinar details to make it all easy! This tool is totally worth the annual investment of under $50!
Hootsuite allows me to manage all my social media networks in one place. I use it to schedule Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn posts, track my mentions and monitor conversations on certain topics. They offer both a FREE version of the web-based tool and paid versions with enhanced analytics and scheduling options.
