October 22, 2019 by Cena Block · Leave a Comment

Have you ever wondered whatever happened to article marketing? Does it still work to help entrepreneurs build their business? Read the newest trends in article marketing for entrepreneurs below.

The field of digital marketing is constantly changing, but that doesn’t mean business owners have to reformulate their strategies every year. Some techniques that worked great a few years ago are less effective today, but others are here to stay.

There’s been a lot of talk in recent years about whether article marketing still has a rightful place in an entrepreneurs’ toolkit. Some people claim that this technique has run its course and become ineffective. However, the reality is that like most digital marketing techniques, article marketing has merely changed. Here’s what contemporary business owners need to know about how article marketing provides valuable SEO and is still considered a viable marketing technique.

The Article Marketing Problem

In recent years, Google and other search engines have changed their algorithms to affect how article marketing works. Once upon a time, even poorly written articles (if stuffed with keywords) performed well in the SERPs. So much that past articles that weren’t original nor even grammatically correct were rewarded. However, things have changed. Advanced algorithms have developed over time to begin rewarding relevance and context.

1. Original content makes better blogs

After Google rolled out these algorithmic changes it’s apparent that article marketing has changed. It is no longer about keyword packing or mass-producing low-quality content. Instead, today’s entrepreneurs need to produce original content. One way to do this effectively is to find agencies like WHITEHAT to produce original content. They work from a strategy to provide genuine value in their articles. Securing the help of an article marketing agency will help you and your clients by providing fresh ideas while offloading the work required to write new content.

2. Consider writing longer articles

Additionally, there’s been a shift in article length. In the past, many blog articles hovered between 350 and 500 words. However, people have become pickier. Readers today are looking for more in-depth information. And today’s search engines are designed to ignore or weed out short, promotional, and low-value content. So, your article writing strategy should shift to accommodate your readers. It’s now time to provide longer, and more carefully researched informative articles.

3. It’s important to be original

Today it’s important to be original. Professional article writers know this, so they create original content intended for just one website. In addition they also source guest posts from reputable industry experts. When this strategy is incorporated into various types of sites, results happen. Even news sites and white papers benefit from original content.

So, if you’re an entrepreneur considering your SEO strategy, article marketing is a valid digital advertising technique. It has truly moved on from its outdated SEO ranking roots.

4. Harness the power of guest posts

In order to truly get the most out of article marketing, don’t just submit content to article directories. Instead, find bloggers who resonate with your content. Then offer high-quality articles as guest posts to bloggers who focus on similar subjects and work within similar industries.

There are several advantages to guest posts. If business owners can place their articles on an authoritative blog, they’ll increase the number of reputable backlinks to their sites. They can also increase their perceived authority and generate more traffic by targeting browsers who are already interested in related subjects. 5. Be creative: Think outside the box

Since article directories are on the outs, article marketing experts need to think outside the box when it comes time to place content. Consider approaching ezine and newsletter owners with custom content. It won’t generate useful backlinks, but it will get the articles seen by potential customers or clients. And remember to incorporate links to reputable websites and prioritize providing valuable content to guests over beating search engine algorithms.

The Bottom Line

Article marketing for entrepreneurs isn’t dead. But it is changing with the times. Modern article marketing techniques are a little more challenging to implement than those of yesteryear, but that doesn’t mean entrepreneurs should quit or even give up hope.

Can article marketing help your blog? YES! Even if you lack time to research techniques, there’s hope and help. Consider digital marketing agencies and guest bloggers who can provide original content. Seek out those who help entrepreneurs implement a results-driven SEO strategy. You can let go of old tactics of outdated article directories and keyword stuffing, and instead, create an article marketing strategy that works today.
