Organizing projects in your house can be difficult to accomplish when you’re short on time. It can be difficult to fit organizing in when you’re pulled in a million different directions, but there are many easy ways to include it in your busy schedule. If your New Year’s resolution is to keep your home nice and tidy, then try some of these tips:

Gather and Donate Unused Clothes.
If you find that your closet seems filled to the brim, try donating old clothes that you never wear. The easy way to work this into your schedule is that whenever you happen to try on a piece of clothing that you feel uncomfortable wearing, put that item in a bag to donate (heavy-duty hefty trash bags work great for this).
This can help your self-esteem and will create more room in your closet. It will also save you the time of going through your closet all at once.
Give Away or Recycle Old Magazines.
Donating old magazines could also help to make more room in your house, depending on how many magazines you have kept over the years. The easiest way is to choose a cut-off date upon which magazines to keep and which magazines to give away to make decisions easier. This cut-off date should make everything go a lot faster, too. A library or friend may be interested in your excess magazines–that way nothing goes to waste! You can put them into strong hefty bags to drag them to the recycling centers.
Gather Random Papers and Coupons.
Another organizing project for coupon-clippers is to consolidate your coupons! To do so, try putting coupons in small sandwich bags or in other hefty food storage bags, and keep them sorted based on what type of item the coupon will help you to save money on. Consolidating coupons in small hefty bags gathers them all in one place. Giving items a home makes it easier to find when you go shopping.
Sort And Purge Old Cosmetics.
Did you know most cosmetics have a shelf-life? Since many are made without preservatives, cosmetics go bad over time. So overbuying and having too many cosmetics can sometimes be a problem. If you’re a Saver Organizing Personality Style, it’s important to know that you must let go of outdated cosmetics often. But how do you know when to let go?
One of the best techniques to keep cosmetics fresh is to purge your cosmetic stash every 3 months. Go through your items and throw out any that have expired. Each cosmetic type has a different shelf life. Some actually are scented. Since many cosmetics are made of petroleum products, they begin to go rancid. So, an easy way to check cosmetics is to open each item and give it a good sniff. If it smells funky, toss it out. For more tips on how long to keep items, this Time To Toss It ebook can help.
