Are you like Transition Tracey?
I'm in a transition phase. I've had a break in my career and I feel disconnected from my 'old' career self and disoriented. I think it might be time to get back out there. I've considered a business startup, and decided that I need to update my resume. I need a career that provides flexible work hours, so I can find life balance. I need to get organized and focused so I'm set up to launch my work from home business or find a decent career so I can financially contribute. I am feeling confused about what to do first and how to get started.
Do you answer YES to these questions?
- Did you pause your career to care for children or another family member?
- Do you say things like: 'I used to be [fill in your career title here], but now I'm a mom.'?
- Is it time to re-engage and put your talents and skills to work again?
- Do you want to create a business to generate additional income?
- Are you struggling to figure out how to get flexible work on your own terms?
Who You Are
You are in a state of life transition. Transitions are characterized as that space in-between: you know where you've been, yet it's difficult to determine what to do next. You've either taken personal time away and paused your career, or you may be looking for the next thing to spark your interest. What you really seek is passion and excitement about your next step, but you're not certain where to start. You may fear to start over in the face of uncertainty.
Transition Challenges Tend to Be
You really want this time of transition to be fruitful and your next career step to work out. You are tired of doing the same thing, and may have been burned by your previous employer or apparent 'dead-end job'. Or you may feel as though you just do not 'fit' in a boxed-in role. You've contemplated starting your own business, following your passion, and how to make money doing what you love but tend to get overwhelmed and let go of that airy dream... The thing is, you don’t know what you don’t know about taking the right next steps, so you settle or give up... hoping to be discovered or rescued someday.
What You Need Most Right Now
Your primary focus needs to be on creating a crystal clear vision of what you want next to drive your passion, overcome the past and create the energy and motivation you need to move forward with a renewed sense of passion. It’s time to look backward, thank your past for how far you've come and what you've learned, and set your strategy on a future fueled by dreams and aspirations. This step helps you clarify your talents, skills, and unique qualities to market yourself and confidently step into your new adventure. To be sure you've capitalized on your strengths and talents to know what to build into your next steps. It is important to set specific goals and find the focus and accountability you need to move your dream career or new business forward, past the ramp-up phase. Coaching will help you move from foggy overwhelm toward clarity, goals, actions, and results.
Coaching can help you prioritize what is most important, focus on high-value tasks and prioritize the essential actions that will result in more clients and more profit.
*Important Note*
Timing matters when you're looking for a coach. Coaching is NOT for everyone. To be most effective, you need to be coachable. (Take the Coachability Quiz here.) It's also important to seek coaching for yourself that truly supports where you are. If in fact, you need a career coach at this stage, your best bet is to find a career mentor to provide guidance and support. I have many resources to help, but if a career coach is what you're after, be sure to explore those opportunities too. However, if you'd like to learn more about how I help people in transition, keep reading.

Introducing Your Transition Solution: The Re-launch Blueprint™
Our process to help you move through life's transition
1. Define Then & Now
With every transition, there is a 'before', a 'during', and an 'after' stage. We will figure out where you are in the change process and look at what has changed. By defining what is true for you and gaining clarity on the steps you've taken to get where you are now, you'll experience a perspective shift and establish some daily best practices that will harbor a positive environment for change.
2. Assess Core Values, Strengths, Skills, Styles, Talents & Interests
When in transition clarity is key. Step 2 helps you dive deeply into your past choices and current circumstances. We'll walk through a series of assessments to help you find 'self' clarity. Starting with a fresh, clear picture of who you are, where your talents and interests lie, and how to best engage your strengths and skills in your next steps will be critical to moving forward. You will also gain insight into your time management habits and organizing style preferences. After this inquiry, you'll have a better idea of where you spend (and lose) your time, we implement time strategies and solutions that will help you reduce overwhelm.
3. Define Ideal Work
With a heightened understanding of who you are now, you'll craft your ideal working situation. This is what you desire when you're through the life transition and onto your new normal. Your ideal work may NOT be based on what you've always done, rather on your core values, strengths, talents, skills, and interests. Ideal work may NOT be a job. It may be something totally new and different. We'll explore your thoughts and fears related to this life transition, shifting careers, and work opportunities.
4. Update Your Resume
Although you may never use it, we will brush off the old resume and refresh it. Why? Because it's an important step in the process of relaunching! By looking deeply and acknowledging your results, accomplishments, and successes you'll experience yourself differently.
5. Explore All Options
Relaunching with soul means that you're totally connected and infused with who you are and what you're about. You'll take the information you uncovered in step two and start exploring opportunities like you did when you were a kid... You're only limited by your beliefs.
6. Hone Interviewing and Networking Skills
Both interviewing and networking are skills... in other words, they are teachable, and many people have gaps where it comes to both of these areas. You'll learn sure-fire techniques that work every time, how to handle difficult questions, and learn how to use your social media connections to your advantage.
7. Create Your Action Plan & Timeline
In this step, we tie up all the loose ends and create your 'next steps' for moving you forward in the direction of your Relaunch! We create a realistic timeline and an action plan to get you out there. If it's a new job you're looking for, we'll get you on the path toward interviews. If there is something different in your future, we will plan your actions so you can relaunch with pizzaz!
